Students from Knezha awarded at the Sci-High STEM Fest for an agricultural-crops project
BNR Radio Sofia covered the National Sci-High STEM Fest at Sofia University's Faculty of Biology and welcomed in studio the prize-winning teams from Knezha and Kozloduy.
The morning programme “Radio Cafe” on BNR Radio Sofia covered the National Sci-High STEM Fest held at the Faculty of Biology of Sofia University, attended by some 150 students, mentors and visitors from across Bulgaria.
“The National Sci-High STEM Fest just took place at the Faculty of Biology of Sofia University. The event drew 150 people of various ages and from different cities, who had the chance to dive into the world of science and feel the spirit of inquiry.”
In studio: Reneta Bogdanova (founder of the festival) and Snezhana Drashanska (teacher of the prize-winning students). Journalist Hristina Ivanova discussed the two awarded projects:
- Jury prize — Vocational High School of Agriculture “Stefan Tsanov”, Knezha: “Lack of diversity and resilience in agricultural crops” — a project that asks why Bulgarian crop varieties require local selection to withstand climate change.
- Audience prize — Secondary School “Sts. Cyril and Methodius”, Kozloduy: “Molecular cuisine” — an interdisciplinary project that impressed visitors with its presentation skills and its science-meets-business angle.
