The “Hristo Botev” channel of Bulgarian National Radio dedicated a feature to the just-concluded fourth edition of the National Sci-High Festival, held at the Faculty of Biology of Sofia University.

In studio:

  • Dimitar Ivanov — board member of the Sci-High Foundation.
  • Kristina Petrova and Yanitsa Yankova — eighth-graders from Haskovo who presented a project on mental health.
  • Sirma Stoyanova and Elena Dimitrova — tenth-graders from Kozloduy who worked on the ecotoxicology of plant-protection products.

The conversation centred on the year-long cycle of student science clubs in Bulgaria and on the role of mentorship from university faculty and external experts. The students described how they chose their topics, what methods they used, and what surprised them in their own data.

“The National Sci-High Science Festival for student projects has just ended.”

The piece also covers the festival’s main awards — the jury prize for a project on the climate resilience of agricultural crops and the audience prize for an interdisciplinary project on “molecular cuisine”.
